Intel has reportedly instructed motherboard manufacturers to utilize its suggested BIOS settings as default in a bid to curb CPU instability issues encountered with the 13th and 14th Generation chips. This step is intended to ensure a seamless user experience as out-of-specification settings can lead to high voltage and frequency inconsistencies.

Custom Performance-Boosting Settings

Many motherboard manufacturers have a habit of configuring their boards with non-standard settings by default. This configuration, especially on higher-end motherboards, often includes higher power and current limits among other settings targeted at amplifying performance right out of the box. Some, like Taiwan-based manufacturer, MSI, even offer updates that allow further performance optimization. These unrestricted parameters, however, are frequently associated with instability issues.
